Lockdown and Last Panto In Little Grimley

We gave Gordon and his little band at the Little Grimley Amateur Dramatic Society a very well received outing in West Haddon a year or so ago and they are back with another couple of comedy capers.
The show ran for three nights in West Haddon village hall, from 30th January to 1st February 2025 to near sell out audiences on each night. The feedback was amazing and West Haddon Players are very proud of the 4 very talented actors who make up this small returning cast.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated and made these evenings such a success and of course to all those you bought tickets and made it such a fun event

Lock Down in Little Grimley
“Lockdown in Little Grimley” was a hilarious play about a small-town amateur drama society trying to rehearse a production during the COVID-19 pandemic. The play was full of witty dialogue, physical comedy, and clever plot twists. The characters were eccentric and relatable, and their struggles to adapt to the new normal resonated with audiences who had experienced similar challenges.
The play also touched on deeper themes of community, resilience, and the importance of the arts in difficult times.
“Lockdown in Little Grimley” was a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always room for humour and hope.

Last Panto in Little Grimley
In the charming village of Little Grimley, the amateur dramatic society embarked on their latest production, a pantomime filled with side-splitting humour and chaotic charm. “The Last Panto in Little Grimley” was a riotous affair, chronicling the society’s chaotic attempts to stage a pantomime amidst a series of mishaps and misadventures.
“The Last Panto in Little Grimley” was a celebration of the enduring spirit of amateur dramatics, reminding audiences of the power of laughter and the importance of community.
It was a hilarious and heart-warming production that left audiences cheering for more.

The Characters and Cast
Gordon, played by Charles Porter
The driving force of the group, full of passion and creative ideas, but prone to frustration and occasional outbursts when things don’t go according to plan. He is dedicated to keeping the amateur dramatic society alive and is willing to push boundaries to achieve success

Margaret, played by Daisy
Margaret is a witty and pragmatic member of the Little Grimley amateur dramatic society, serving as a voice of reason and a counterpoint to Gordon’s impulsiveness. She is dedicated to the society but often clashes with Gordon’s unconventional ideas, preferring a more traditional approach to theatre.

Joyce, player by Jane Porter
The enthusiastic and optimistic member of the group, always eager to participate, even if her talents are somewhat limited. She is the heart of the society, providing unwavering support and loyalty.

Bernard, played by Richard Lilleyman
The pragmatic and somewhat grumpy member of the group, responsible for the technical aspects of the productions. While not a keen actor, he plays a crucial role behind the scenes and offers a dry wit to the proceedings.
